PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN MARKETING COMMUNICATION:


  • Started career in Karachi in 1966 with W. S. Crawfords Limited, a UK based advertising company of repute (now a component of Satchi & Satchi).
  • While in Crawfords, was entrusted with the job of developing campaigns for mass-media communication.
  • Joined East Asiatic Advertising Limited in 1968.
  • Pioneered the concept of Modern Advertising and Consumer Research in the then Pakistan, by creating campaigns for small savings amongst daily – wage earning laborers and initiating Total Offer Test, Market Mapping Studies and Communication Effectiveness tests for various International Agencies and Multi-National Companies.
  • Conceived and created successful campaigns on such issues as “Vitamin A fortification through everyday food (for Helen Keller), “Diarrheal Remedy through Home-made Saline” (for Bangladeshi Rural Advancement Committee), Iodine Deficiency Disorder for UNICEF etc.
  • Presently the Group Chairman of Asiatic 3Sixty, the largest total communication company in the country.
  • Asiatic Marketing Communications Ltd. handles Marketing Communications assignments for about 20 (twenty) leading companies/organizations of the country.
  • Directly supervised making of over 100 advertising films and videos.
  • Also Chairman of MRC-MODE LTD., one of the largest Marketing & Social Research Companies of Bangladesh, Asiatic Events Marketing Limited, one of the largest events activation companies of the country; Asiatic Mindshare, Asiatic Maxus and Asiatic Media Edge, three leading media planning – dissemination and monitoring companies handling about 60% of the country’s Media business, Nayantara Communication – Maker of Sisimpur – The Bengali adaptation of Sesame Street.
